Dodge has unveiled its latest Charger model, returning to its traditional two-door fastback coupe form, which has generated excitement among enthusiasts. However, across the Atlantic, the Challenger’s last iteration continues to captivate fans, showcasing Dodge’s enduring popularity.

While some may view this move as aligning with modern trends, Dodge’s approach remains unique. The introduction of the new Charger in America coincides with the discontinuation of production for the L-bodied Charger sedan and Challenger coupe in December 2023. However, it appears that Dodge Europe missed this memo.

Instead, Dodge Europe remains committed to the Challenger, showcasing its support through a recent partnership as the official friend of the WorldSBK championship for the 2024 season.

This collaboration features several Challenger SRT Hellcats serving as official Safety Cars and an Expo Car, alongside Dodge Durango SRTs fulfilling roles as Race director and FIM Safety Officer official cars.

The aftermarket scene in Europe also demonstrates a strong affinity for the Challenger, particularly in American-style quarter-mile drag races. The videos from Drag Car 4K highlight the popularity of this traditional yet unconventional racing format on the Old Continent.

One video showcases a compilation of racing events featuring various vehicles, such as the Shelby or AC Cobra equipped with a 7.0-liter V8, demonstrating their prowess on an unprepared racing surface.

Another video focuses on a showdown between an orange Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and a first-generation F32 BMW 4 Series Coupe, showcasing the enduring appeal of American muscle cars in Europe.

Despite the BMW’s respectable specs, including a 3.0-liter B58 turbo inline-six engine with over 320 horsepower, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat’s formidable power and skilled driving result in a close yet decisive victory.

This display of American muscle dominance on European soil underscores the enduring allure of Dodge’s iconic Challenger.
