LDV is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle offerings in Australia with the introduction of the seven-seat LDV MIFA 7 electric people mover. The vehicle has received approval for sale in the country and comes with a choice of two battery options.

Equipped with a front-mounted 180kW/350Nm electric motor, the LDV MIFA 7 offers customers the flexibility to select between 77kWh and 90kWh batteries. Although CarExpert anticipates its arrival later this year, the official launch date is yet to be confirmed by Ateco, LDV’s local distributor.

Interestingly, while the electric version of the MIFA 7 has been approved for sale, there are no government approval documents available for its petrol-powered counterpart, known as the G70 in China. This differs from LDV’s larger people movers, which are available in both petrol (MIFA) and electric (MIFA 9) variants in the Australian market.

In terms of dimensions, the LDV MIFA 7 measures 4907mm in length, 1885mm in width, and 1756mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2975mm. It closely aligns in size with the defunct Honda Odyssey, being shorter, narrower, and lower than LDV’s MIFA 9 model.

The vehicle boasts a braked towing capacity of 1500kg, an unbraked towing capacity of 750kg, and a tare mass ranging from 2159kg to 2239kg, riding on 18-inch wheels. According to Maxus, the MIFA 7’s 77kWh battery offers a range of 527km, while the larger 90kWh battery provides a range of 605km under the CLTC testing cycle.

Safety features include six airbags, side curtain airbags covering up to 97 percent of the wheelbase, and a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems such as autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, and more.

The interior offers versatility with available seating configurations, including a unique six-seat layout with a rotating front passenger seat.

Notable features of the LDV MIFA 7 include three 12.3-inch screens, vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, a panoramic glass roof, power sliding doors, a heat pump, a refrigerated compartment, and optional mobile remote parking.

With LDV expanding its electric vehicle lineup in Australia, the MIFA 7 joins the brand’s existing offerings such as the eT60 ute and eDeliver 7 van, catering to the growing demand for electric vehicles in the country’s market segment.
