Bugatti, known for its exclusivity and significant announcements, is currently focused on developing the successor to the Chiron hypercar. Following the end of production for the 500-something series last year, preparations are underway for this highly anticipated replacement.

With a complex history, including periods of being defunct and revived, Bugatti is now under the leadership of Mate Rimac, CEO of Bugatti Rimac, which is owned by Rimac Group (55%) and Porsche (45%).

Rimac, renowned for its electric hypercars, has teased details about Bugatti’s upcoming hypercar and its new powertrain. While specifics are limited until a public reveal in June, glimpses of the V16 hybrid powertrain have been shared, indicating years of development work.

While it’s unlikely that Bugatti will venture into hypersedans or mega-crossover SUVs, enthusiasts speculate about potential expansions, particularly if the hybrid V16 setup proves successful.

Digital car content creators have imagined concepts like a Bugatti Galibier Hypersedan or a Bugatti SUV, suggesting a market for exotic SUVs that surpass current offerings in both price and power.

Recently, a design proposal by student Charles Ketels envisioned a Bugatti coupe-SUV named Vizcaya, aiming to dominate the super-SUV segment.

Although these concepts precede official announcements about Bugatti’s future direction, they spark discussion about the potential for exotic SUVs to redefine the luxury SUV market, surpassing models like the BMW XM Label Red PHEV and Ferrari Purosangue in both performance and price.
