Lancia enthusiasts, rejoice! The iconic HF badge is set to make a comeback in 2025 with the introduction of the new electric hot hatch, the Ypsilon HF. As Lancia steers towards an all-electric future, it pays homage to its illustrious past by resurrecting the HF moniker, synonymous with high-performance driving.

The HF legacy traces back to the 1960s, gracing legendary models like the Flavia and Fulvia coupe, and later adorning iconic performance cars such as the Stratos and Delta Integrale. Now, the Ypsilon HF emerges as the harbinger of Lancia’s return to the realm of high-performance vehicles, with a promise of more exhilarating models to follow.

Underneath its sleek exterior lies the CMP platform, shared with esteemed counterparts like the Peugeot e-208 and Vauxhall Corsa Electric, meticulously upgraded to deliver a power-packed performance.

Boasting an impressive 237bhp from a single front-mounted electric motor, the Ypsilon HF accelerates from 0 to 62mph in just 5.8 seconds, reminiscent of the Delta Integrale 16v’s prowess.

To complement its formidable powertrain, the Ypsilon HF sports an HF-specific suspension setup featuring a lowered ride height and wider tracks, possibly accentuated by Integrale-style flared arches.

While maintaining the standard Ypsilon’s commendable range of up to 250 miles from its 51kWh battery, the HF variant promises electrifying driving dynamics.

Visually, the Ypsilon undergoes a striking transformation in HF guise, anticipated to flaunt distinctive bumpers, wheels, and HF badging, embodying the spirit of performance and victory. Symbolized by the ‘galloping elephant’ logo, synonymous with triumph and resilience, Lancia’s resurgence in motorsport looms on the horizon.

With CEO Luca Napolitano hinting at a potential return to rallying, the revival of the HF badge ignites excitement for Lancia enthusiasts worldwide, signaling a thrilling new chapter in the brand’s storied history.

As the automotive world eagerly awaits the arrival of the Ypsilon HF, Lancia’s legacy of performance excellence continues to captivate hearts and minds alike.
