In the summer of 2019, Bentley introduced the EXP 100 GT, showcasing its futuristic vision for luxury vehicles in 2035. This concept, spanning 5.8 meters in length and adorned with unique materials like 5,000-year-old Riverwood, captivated with its extravagant design and innovative features.

Among its highlights was an intricate light display on the front grille, foreshadowing Bentley’s intent to integrate light as a prominent material in future models.

Five years later, Bentley’s vision materialized with the unveiling of the Batur, an exclusive luxury car crafted by the Mulliner division.

While mechanically similar to the Continental, the Batur boasted unparalleled luxury, including a Naim sound system priced at $30,000 and a groundbreaking light show utilizing Advanced Digital Light Processing (DLP) technology.

This innovative feature, projecting animated welcome messages upon opening the door, showcased Bentley’s commitment to pushing boundaries in automotive design.

The DLP system, utilizing tiny mirrors and sophisticated optics, transformed light into intricate animations, offering customers a personalized experience.

Despite Bentley’s efforts to revolutionize automotive lighting, some found the implementation underwhelming, suggesting it might not live up to the extravagant expectations associated with its hefty price tag.
