BMW M3 Says Goodbye To The Manual Transmission In A Final Edition Model

The iconic BMW M3 is set to bid farewell in style with a special Final Edition featuring a revered 6-speed manual gearbox. Limited to just 150 units, this exclusive offering promises enthusiasts a last hurrah before the transition to newer technologies.

In the automotive hub of Japan, where demand often surpasses supply, prospective buyers may find themselves vying for a chance through the customary lottery system.

Introduced in 2021 as the sixth generation bearing the internal code G80, the BMW M3 has been a symbol of high-performance luxury sedans. However, in a nod to tradition, this Final Edition marks the end of an era for the manual gearbox variant.

Dubbed the BMW M3 MT Final Edition, this rare gem pays homage to its heritage with a limited production run featuring three distinct colors, each with 50 units allocated.

In typical Japanese fashion, should demand exceed availability, hopefuls will have to rely on luck to secure their desired ride. Applications are open from March 13th at 11 a.m. until March 27th at 11:59 p.m., with a caveat that popular color choices may necessitate a second preference.

Embracing its legacy, the BMW M3 MT Final Edition boasts golden rims reminiscent of its inaugural generation and interior accents in bright red, a tribute to the victorious BMW M3 prepared by the AC Schnitzer team in the 1989 German DTM championship. The available body colors include Alpine White, M Brooklyn Gray, and Saphir Noir, each exuding its unique allure.

Priced locally at 14.2 million yen, approximately €88,000, the base model features a formidable 480-hp engine generating 550 Nm of torque. Deliveries are slated for June, offering lucky owners a blend of performance and exclusivity.

For those seeking even more power, the BMW M3 Competition, starting at €109,950, boasts 510 hp and 650 Nm, representing the epitome of M series performance.
