Genesis Motor, the luxury division of Hyundai Motor Company, has a relatively short but impactful history. Initially conceptualized in 2004, it officially became an independent marque in late 2015.
However, it wasn’t until 2017 that Genesis launched its first standalone model, the G90 flagship sedan. Since then, the brand has rapidly expanded its lineup, offering models like the G70, G80, G90 sedans, and the GV60, GV70, and GV80 crossover SUVs.
Besides its production models, Genesis has also been active in showcasing innovative concepts. From Vision G in 2015 to the X series concepts in 2021, the brand has continuously pushed the boundaries of design and technology.
Now, at the 2024 New York Auto Show, Genesis is set to reveal three exciting concepts: the GV60 and GV80 Magma, along with the Neolun prototype. The Neolun concept, in particular, has sparked speculation about its potential as a preview for a flagship GV90 SUV.
While it shares similarities with previous X series concepts, rumors suggest it could be more than just a design study. If realized, the GV90 would position Genesis to compete with established luxury SUVs like the BMW X7. With anticipation building, the Neolun concept is poised to make a significant impact at the auto show, showcasing Genesis’ commitment to innovation and design excellence.
