Amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Ukrainian MP Hennadii Vatsak has drawn attention by being spotted in his electric Rolls-Royce Spectre, a vehicle valued at approximately $500,000.

This purchase likely distinguishes Vatsak as the first owner of the electric Coupe in war-torn Ukraine.

Despite the tumultuous circumstances of the Russian invasion, the electric car market in Ukraine has experienced significant growth, nearly doubling in size.

Hennadii Vatsak, a notable figure in Ukrainian business and politics, has purportedly acquired the Rolls-Royce Spectre EV, potentially becoming the first individual to own this electric Coupe amidst Ukraine’s conflict-ridden environment.

According to local news footage, Vatsak was observed maneuvering the Rolls-Royce Spectre, a vehicle that commands a starting price of over $500,000, during a leisurely drive.

Rolls-Royce’s all-electric Spectre boasts an estimated range of 530 kilometers (329 miles) per charge. Furthermore, with the aid of a fast charger, its 102kWh lithium-ion battery can recharge from 10-80% in just 34 minutes.

At 52 years old, Vatsak boasts a collection that includes other luxury vehicles such as the Maserati Quattroporte Q4 and a Jaguar F-Type, while he has previously owned a Hummer and BMW X6.

Despite the ongoing Russian invasion, the electric car market in Ukraine has shown remarkable resilience, nearly doubling in size, as per insights shared by Maryna Kytina, Chief Advisor to the Executive Director of UkraineInvest.

In an interview with Forbes Ukraine, Kytina remarked, “Over the past year, the electric car market in our country has almost doubled. As of 1 January, there were 84,127 electric cars registered in Ukraine. According to my survey of operators, there are now more than 12,000 charging points. In 2022, the charging network will be a third smaller, with around 9,500 points. Today, in 70% of cases, Ukrainians prefer to charge their electric cars at home. But two years ago, 90% of Ukrainian electric cars were charged at home.”
