The Hummer EV has experienced an extraordinary surge in sales, marking one of the most significant growths in the automotive industry. Comparing the first quarter of 2024 to the same period last year, there’s been an impressive 83,300 percent increase in figures.

This substantial growth is understandable when considering the numbers from 2023. Only two units were sold in the first quarter of the previous year, with a total of 3,260 units delivered by the end of 2023.

However, in the first quarter of 2024, GM significantly boosted production at its Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant in Michigan, resulting in 1,668 customers driving home with a Hummer EV, Pickup, or SUV.

Although GM hasn’t disclosed the exact breakdown between the truck and SUV variants, maintaining this pace could lead to an over 80,000 percent growth by the end of 2024.

The GMC Hummer EV, built on the Ultium architecture, features a 24-module, 576-cell battery with a usable capacity of 212.7 kWh, enabling a range of up to 350 miles (563 kilometers) before requiring a recharge.

With a starting price of $98,845 for the Pickup version and $140,300 for the Omega Limited Edition, the Hummer EV is among the heaviest passenger vehicles in the US, capable of towing around 10,000 pounds.

While the Silverado pickup truck remains GM’s best-selling vehicle, the Hummer EV’s impressive sales figures demonstrate a strong demand for electric pickup trucks and SUVs in today’s market.
