A Rare Find The Exclusive 1996 Vector M12 On Auction

Car enthusiasts and collectors are drawn to exceptionally rare, low-mileage classic vehicles with intriguing histories, and the Vector M12, an uncommon fiberglass-bodied American supercar from the 1990s, perfectly fits the bill.

Crafted by McLaren F1 designer Peter Stevens, this lesser-known gem emerged from Vector Aeromotive, a now-defunct manufacturer that captured the imagination of many with its limited production runs. Founded in 1971 by visionary engineer Gerald Wiegert, Vector went through various iterations until its closure in 2021, leaving behind a legacy of innovative designs. Among these, the Vector M12 stands out as one of its finest creations.

Produced from 1995 to 1999 under the ownership of MegaTech, which also owned Lamborghini at the time, the M12 shares its DNA with the iconic Lamborghini Diablo. Utilizing a lengthened Diablo chassis and the potent 5.7-liter Lamborghini quad-cam V12 engine, the M12 distinguishes itself with a front-central engine layout, setting it apart from its Italian counterpart.

With styling cues borrowed from the earlier Vector AWX-3 prototype, including spaceship-inspired aerodynamics, the M12 presents a futuristic profile that remains fascinating even today.

This particular M12, the fourth of the 14 production models, exudes elegance in its red exterior and tan interior. Powered by the original Lamborghini V12 and featuring meticulous craftsmanship, it has only accrued 4,400 miles since its production. Now available for sale in Osprey, Florida, this rare gem comes with a clean history and promises to delight any discerning collector with its exclusivity and performance potential.
