A group of Maverick pickup trucks has been recalled due to a labeling error. Specifically, the vehicles were equipped with TREAD labels displaying incorrect spare tire size, cold tire inflation pressure, and payload information.

This issue came to light on March 12, 2024, prompting investigations that revealed a subset of XLT models with the FX4 package and 4K trailer tow package were produced with mini spare tires instead of full-size ones.

Although the mini spares were replaced with full-size tires before shipment, the TREAD labels indicating mini spares were not updated. This oversight renders the vehicles non-compliant with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 110.

Fortunately, there have been no reported accidents related to this recall. To remedy the situation, affected owners will receive updated labels via first-class mail between April 29, 2024, and May 3, 2024. The affected vehicles, produced between January 15, 2024, and January 22, 2024, at the Hermosillo plant, total nine units in the US.

These vehicles are equipped with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine, all-wheel drive, and the FX4 package, which enhances towing capabilities with features like a trailer hitch receiver and upgraded cooling systems.
