Lotus is bringing its Eletre SUV to America. This electric family car offers two versions: the entry-level and the R, both with two motors and a powerful 111.9-kWh battery that charges fast. The mid-range Eletre S won’t be available in the U.S. because American buyers prefer more luxurious features. Here are the prices before adding the destination fee:

– Eletre: $107,000
– Eletre R: $145,000

The base model has 603 horsepower and can go from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds, reaching a top speed of 160 mph. The R model boasts 905 horsepower, and goes from 0 to 62 mph in 2.95 seconds, with a top speed of 165 mph. The base model comes with six-piston calipers for braking, while the R gets 10-piston calipers.

Inside, there are seven customizable screens, KEF audio, adaptive suspension, and a safety suite with Nvidia chips, cameras, radar units, and LIDAR arrays.

In our First Drive review, we mentioned that driving the Lotus Eletre raised many questions, and now the pricing adds more mystery. The Eletre joins the sports-focused SUV market with competitors like the Porsche Macan 4 EV, Maserati Grecale Folgore, Audi Q8 Sportback E-Tron, and Genesis Electrified GV70.

There are also luxury and off-road competitors like the Mercedes-EQS SUV, Hummer EV SUV, and Rivian R1S. Lucid’s Gravity is expected to join this market soon, promising exciting comparison tests in early 2025.
