For those unfamiliar with certain music genres like hip hop, rock, rap, country, or heavy metal, the name Robert James Ritchie might not resonate much. However, under his alias Kid Rock, recognition is nearly universal. This recognition is what sellers of a fully loaded 2005 Ford GT are banking on, aiming to fetch up to $600,000 for the car once owned by the musician.

The Ford GT needs little introduction, having been introduced by Ford in the early 2000s as part of its centenary celebrations. It paid homage to the GT40 that secured Ford’s victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960s and marked Ford’s entry into a new era of high-performance cars.

This particular Ford GT is from the first generation, produced in 2005, making it part of a limited production run of just 669 examples with its distinctive Mark IV red paint and white stripes, adorned with the American flag. Equipped with forged lightweight BBS wheels, the car boasts Ford’s powerful aluminum V8 engine with a 2.3-liter supercharger, delivering 550 horsepower and capable of reaching 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.

With only 3,110 miles on the odometer, this GT is in pristine condition, complete with an ebony interior and fully loaded with all four options offered by Ford, including racing stripes, BBS wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and a McIntosh stereo system. Set to go under the hammer at an auction in May, this iconic vehicle, coupled with its connection to Kid Rock, is expected to draw significant attention and potentially fetch a hefty sum.
