Amidst the plethora of widebody Lamborghini Uruses saturating the automotive scene, a new contender emerges. Unlike its predecessors, which were predominantly based on the pre-facelifted version, this one bears the Performante badge, touted by the Italian marque as the apex variant of the series.

Don’t confuse agility with sheer power, as that accolade goes to the recently revealed Urus SE. This plug-in hybrid marvel boasts a combined output of 701 pound-feet (950 Nm) of torque and 789 horsepower (800 ps/588 kW) from its 4.0L twin-turbo V8 and electric motor.

It dashes to 62 mph (100 kph) in 3.4 seconds and tops out at 194 mph (312 kph). In contrast, the Urus Performante packs a non-electrified 4.0L V8 churning out 657 hp (666 ps/490 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque.

While marginally slower to 62 mph compared to the SE, it excels in agility, albeit with a marginally lower top speed of 190 mph (306 kph). The Urus S matches the Performante’s power output but lags by two-tenths in acceleration.

Beyond the numbers, let’s see what sets this Lamborghini Urus Performante apart. It flaunts a widebody design with extended fenders at both ends, accompanied by a beefier front apron, side skirts, a quad-fin diffuser, and various additional aerodynamic enhancements.

Lowered slightly closer to the tarmac, thanks to a suspension tweak, this modified Urus Performante may sacrifice some comfort for enhanced cornering prowess. Nevertheless, its striking appearance, reminiscent of a fighter jet, raises its appeal, even among those not typically drawn to Lamborghini’s SUV offering.
