Lotus Announces Significant Price Cuts For Eletre Range

Lotus has made substantial revisions to the pricing structure of its Eletre range just ahead of the commencement of customer deliveries, implementing sweeping price cuts that start from a minimum of $35,000. This move represents a significant adjustment, especially for the company’s inaugural electric SUV, the Eletre, where prices have been slashed by up to $49,010. These adjustments apply to customer vehicles already in production for the model year 2025.

Anticipated to arrive in Australia by June, the model year 2024 Eletre S and Eletre R SUVs have already in production since April, with the base Eletre’s production schedule accelerated from 2025 to the third quarter of 2024. This advancement in production means that customers ordering a base Eletre now have a promising chance of receiving their vehicles in 2024.

Despite the notable price reductions, Lotus has decided to enhance the mid-range Eletre S by introducing new standard features, including a glass roof and the five-seat Comfort Seat Pack. In terms of aesthetics, the base Eletre now comes with an Akoya White finish as standard, while the previously offered Natron Red option has been replaced with a new Cinnabar Red color.

Additionally, Lotus has opted to remove LiDAR hardware from the standard equipment list for all 2025 Eletre models, although it remains available as an optional inclusion within the Highway Assist Pack. This decision was influenced by feedback from Australian consumers, who expressed minimal interest in upfront LiDAR hardware inclusion, citing skepticism about the imminent arrival of autonomous driving technologies in Australia.

To streamline the purchasing process, Lotus has introduced a more customer-friendly approach, allowing buyers to configure their vehicles online and secure a spot in the build queue by placing a refundable reservation deposit. However, it’s important to note that Lotus remains committed to its traditional sales model.

Lotus emphasizes that customers will continue to receive personalized assistance from their local Lotus retailer throughout the ordering and delivery process. These pricing adjustments, coupled with the introduction of new standard features and the simplification of the ordering process, represent a significant step forward for Lotus as it prepares to introduce its electric SUV lineup to the market.
