Jaguar is set to release its all-electric GT in the US later this year. According to Automotive News Europe, CEO Adrian Mardell confirmed this news. However, there are no specifics about the GT yet, as Mardell remained secretive. However, he did mention that the starting price will be over £100,000 or $125,000 for buyers in the US.

The aim of this model is to make Jaguar more luxurious and move away from the mid-level luxury brands it has been competing with for the past decade. Instead, Jaguar is now targeting brands like Porsche and Bentley to change its image. The debut of this new model is expected to happen at an event in the US, possibly during the Pebble Beach Concours or the LA Auto Show.

Jaguar promises that its GT will be unlike any other model in the market. Mardell stated that consumers will be impressed when they see the product. The inspiration for this model comes from classic Jaguar cars like the E-Type, and it will boast exceptional performance thanks to the new Jaguar Electrified Architecture platform.

While the power output hasn’t been officially confirmed, earlier comments from chief creative officer Gerry McGovern suggested a range of up to 430 miles on a single charge. McGovern also mentioned that special editions will play a significant role in increasing the pricing and elevating the brand into a higher luxury segment. Once the GT is revealed, production is expected to begin for deliveries in 2025.

Jaguar has ambitious plans for electrification, aiming to introduce three fully-electric models. These EVs will replace previous gas-powered models like the F-Type coupe, XF, and XE sedans. Collaboration with the Chinese automaker Chery, Jaguar’s partner since 2012, might aid in developing these future models.

The company aims to return to its glory days of targeting extremely wealthy customers in the 1990s when profits were soaring. McGovern emphasized Jaguar’s transformation into a modern luxury brand, focusing on unique designs that stand out. The future of Jaguar promises innovation and distinction in the luxury car market.
