CHEVY EQUINOX 2024

The 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV, a compact crossover, is finally reaching dealerships across the US after some production delays at the Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico. Assembly started in February, and now General Motors’ affordable electric vehicle is on its way to customers nationwide. With the Bolt EUV gone, the Equinox EV becomes GM’s cheapest electric option, especially once the base version is available later this year.

The initial units being delivered bear the 2RS and 2RS Launch edition badges, with the 2LT, 3LT, and 3RS trims set to arrive at dealerships by the end of the month. The 1LT, the most budget-friendly variant, will follow suit and reach dealers later this year.

Priced at $43,295, including the destination charge of $1,395, the current entry-level Equinox EV is the 2LT. It comes equipped with features like heated front seats and steering wheel, a 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Google integration, an 11-inch digital instrument cluster, and more. However, the more affordable 1LT variant, slated for later release, will forgo certain features like the LED bar, roof rails, and heated side mirrors.

Additional upgrades come with higher trims: the 2RS boasts 21-inch wheels, while the 3LT and 3RS add features like ventilated front seats, heated rear outboard seats, dual-zone climate control, and a heated wiper pack. The 3RS also includes a heated flat-bottom steering wheel.

General Motors highlights the Equinox EV’s charging capabilities, noting that it can be recharged from an AC source of up to 11.5 kilowatts, adding up to 36 miles of range per hour. DC fast charging at a maximum of 150 kW is also standard, allowing for a 77-mile range top-up in just 10 minutes.

The electric compact crossover offers both front-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive configurations. Single-motor trims achieve a maximum EPA-estimated range of 319 miles on a full charge, with a power output of 213 hp. Meanwhile, the AWD variants offer a range of up to 285 miles and 288 hp.
