Remember the Chevrolet Camaro? The iconic muscle car stopped production at the end of last year. But gear up for some exciting news! There have been rumors about the Camaro coming back as an electric car, and it looks like those rumors might be true.

Here’s the deal. General Motors (GM) is going all-electric, and that likely includes the Camaro. But don’t worry, it won’t be an SUV like the Ford Mustang Mach-E. According to GM President Mark Reuss, the new Camaro will be a real electric car – a pony car, just like the original. It will also be designed to appeal to a wider range of people, not just hardcore car enthusiasts.

The price tag is also good news. The electric Camaro might cost around the same as the new Chevy Equinox EV, which starts at $35,000. After factoring in the federal tax credit for electric cars, that could bring the price down to a very attractive $27,500! That’s significantly cheaper than a Tesla Model 3.

Of course, there are still some hurdles. GM needs to be able to make enough batteries to keep the price down. They had some problems with this last year, causing delays for other electric car models.

We don’t know exactly when the electric Camaro will be available, but rumors suggest GM is aiming for 2026. No official announcement yet, but stay tuned!
