Pocono Raceway, known as ‘The Tricky Triangle,’ is a famous track in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. It hosts three NASCAR National Series races and an ARCA Menards Series event in July, but it’s busy year-round with RaceMotive’s roll racing events.

RaceMotive offers various roll racing events at Pocono, including a 65 MPH Roll Race and a 1/3-mile (1,760-foot) SxS Shootout, attracting many participants. Past highlights include a McLaren 570S vs. a 1,050-hp Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, a Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 racing a Hellcat, BMW M3, and Toyota GR Corolla, and twin 1,100-hp and 1,200-hp Corvette Z06s competing against various other cars.

Recently, a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX, better suited for rally courses, raced at Pocono against a 1,200-hp C6 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. The Z06 narrowly won with 177 mph versus 167 mph. In a rematch, the Corvette had issues, and the Evo IX reached 177 mph. The Evo then beat a 1,000-hp Lexus IS300 with 175 mph and a BMW executive sedan with 117 mph.

Mitsubishi’s American division is focusing on its Momentum 2030 strategy, which includes new powertrains, more vehicle introductions, new dealer partners, and new technologies. However, a new Lancer is unlikely.
