Morgan and Pininfarina have teamed up to make the Midsummer, a special car celebrating the art of coachbuilding. This car, inspired by classic open-top designs, is super fancy and only 50 lucky people will get to drive one.

The Midsummer runs on a powerful six-cylinder BMW engine with a turbocharger. It’s connected to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. We’re not sure exactly how fast it goes, but it probably moves pretty quickly. Morgan aims to keep it light, even lighter than a Mazda MX-5 Miata, with special dampers to help with the ride.

The car is not just about speed, though. It’s also a work of art, born from a cool idea Morgan and Pininfarina had. They wanted to make something really special, and they did. The Midsummer takes inspiration from old cars from the late 1930s and early 1940s. It looks different from other Morgans, with new curves and lines, especially on the front and back.

There are special touches all over this car. The wheels, for example, are unique to the Midsummer and are lighter than those on other Morgans. The tires are also special, giving the car a modern look. Even the headlights and grille are different, adding to the Midsummer’s charm.

Inside, it’s just as fancy. The seats are covered in leather, and there’s lots of wood, giving it a classic feel. The dashboard has special dials, and the steering wheel is new too. Even the sound system has been upgraded for better tunes while driving.

Wood is a big deal for Morgan cars, and they’ve used it cleverly in the Midsummer. It’s not just for looks—it helps make the car stronger. In fact, they’ve used teak wood to create a cool line along the side of the car.

But here’s the kicker: only 50 of these cars will be made. Massimo Fumarola, the boss at Morgan, says the Midsummer is all about celebrating the art of making cars. It’s for people who love driving something special, something that feels timeless.

We don’t know how much these cars will cost yet, but they won’t be cheap. Making each one takes a lot of time, around 250 hours just for the body panels. But if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on one, you can customize it however you like. The Midsummer will be revealed later this year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
