Just one year after Henry Ford’s death, Ford revealed the F-100 in 1948, setting the stage for an enduring legacy. Little did they anticipate, that this truck would pave the way for the F-Series to become America’s best-selling pickup truck, a position it has maintained for 47 consecutive years.

It was during the sixth generation that the iconic F-150 was introduced. The Over Spray Garage team found this truck abandoned in a yard, seemingly beyond saving. They refused to give up, spending considerable time to get it running again.

In a dilapidated state, the truck was a far cry from its former glory, covered in rust, dust, leaves, and rodent remnants, with the driver’s side window barely holding on. Inside, there were old sunglasses, and they had to force open the trunk, which revealed wooden boxes and a spare tire.

The team faced numerous hurdles, including tangled electrical wires and the need for a new ignition cylinder. After repairing a damaged fusible link and refueling, the truck finally roared back to life.

The buried, flat tires were temporarily inflated, allowing the truck to be moved for the first time in 25 years, although it lacked functional brakes. Despite this accomplishment, the truck remains unfit for the road due to its brake issues, a foggy windshield, and no insurance.
