Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) has rolled out its latest five-year plan for North America, called Momentum 2030, which is set to take effect immediately and continue through fiscal year 2030. Despite their actual sales numbers being relatively modest, the company recently announced a substantial 37% increase in Q1 deliveries.

As part of its strategy to maintain a strong presence in the U.S. market, Mitsubishi is prioritizing the advancement of electrification through the introduction of hybrid, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery electric vehicles. Mitsubishi enthusiasts are pleased to see the company striving to reclaim its past glory. Digital car content creators are also showing their support.

For instance, Jim, a virtual artist known as jlord8 on social media, has envisioned a modern Mitsubishi Raider pickup truck following the official announcement. Another digital artist, Theottle, has taken a different approach by using CGI to transform Mitsubishi’s Triton into a rival to the Toyota 4Runner.

Passionate about the new Mitsubishi Triton mid-size pickup truck (known as L200 in other markets), Theottle previously created variations of the Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, aiming for a cooler competitor to the Toyota Fortuner/SW4 mid-size SUV.

Inspired by Mitsubishi’s Momentum 2030 and the plan to introduce vehicles in new segments, Theottle has now designed a fresh Mitsubishi Pajero Sport based on the Triton. This new design uses the latest Toyota 4Runner as a reference for size and shape, featuring a subtly different front fascia inspired by the Xpander Cross to distinguish it further.
