Introduced at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, the seventh generation BMW 3 Series is built on the CLAR platform and has been in production since late 2018, starting with the 2019 model year.
BMW’s mid-cycle update in 2022, referred to as the Life Cycle Impulse (LCI), brought refreshed front and rear bumpers, updated headlights, a slightly modified grille, and a redesigned interior with a new dual curved display featuring iDrive and BMW Operating System 8. Additionally, the eight-speed automatic transmission became standard across all models, now with a new gear selector design.
The facelift also introduced new styling details for the exterior and interior, alongside new color options, including Arctic Race Blue metallic, Vegas Red metallic, and two BMW Individual shades, Frozen Pure Grey metallic and Frozen Portimao Blue metallic. M Sport package models now feature 9-inch M alloy wheels, with optional 19-inch Y-spoke alloy wheels (Style 1038i) available from BMW Individual.
The refreshed 3 Series will launch globally in July, with US production beginning in August at the BMW Group Plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. In the US, the lineup includes the 2025 BMW 330i and M340i, available with or without xDrive, priced from $45,500 to $61,600. Both engines now incorporate 48V mild hybrid technology.
