Volkswagen is introducing a new model to succeed the T6.1, utilizing the Ford Transit Custom platform. The new vehicle will feature an exterior design that aligns with other Bulli models, such as the Multivan and ID. Buzz.
Volkswagen’s range includes three similarly sized vans, each with a unique focus: the Multivan is designed for passenger transport, while the electric ID. Buzz Cargo is not a direct replacement for the T6.1, which was retired due to updated emissions and cybersecurity regulations.
The T7 will resemble the Ford Transit Custom in shape but will have distinct front and rear styling. The front design matches that of the ID. Buzz and Multivan, while the rear showcases unique LED taillights. Wheel options for the T7 range from 16 to 19 inches, with the largest size featuring a diamond-cut rim flange and six black spokes.
Like its predecessors, the fuel filler cap is integrated into the B-pillar. The new Transporter, to be built in Turkey alongside the Transit Custom and Tourneo, is scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2025. Pre-sales have already begun in Europe, with prices starting at €36,780 in Germany, or around $39,835.
