Nick’s Garage, a YouTube channel devoted to Canadian muscle cars, recently showcased a stunning HEMI Orange 1969 Road Runner.
Though not equipped with a numbers-matching 426, this car boasts an even more powerful HEMI engine, meticulously built by Nick about seven years ago.
Originally dubbed “The Keeper” and intended to stay in his collection, the car was sold in 2019. Now back in Nick’s shop for some tweaks, the Road Runner delivers 500 horsepower and around 500 pound-feet (678 Nm) of torque surpassing the stock HEMI’s 425 horsepower and 490 pound-feet (664 Nm).
This particular Road Runner, featuring a distinct blacked-out hood, is as impressive in performance as it is in appearance, highlighted by Nick taking it for a spin and pushing it to high revs with the hood off.
If it were a real HEMI model, it would be one of the few 777 models made in 1969 there were only 234 made with the hardtop and four-speed transmission. Still, the automobile is unquestionably cool due to its performance and distinctive past.
