The wait continues for North American and Australian customers eager to get behind the wheel of the new BMW 1 Series.

While a rollout in these regions has been hinted at, there haven’t been any official announcements. Meanwhile, their European counterparts can already customize and order their new 1 Series through an updated online configurator.

Prices in Germany, for instance, range from €37,900 ($41,173) for the 120 model to €56,200 ($61,053) for the M135 xDrive. It’s worth noting that these European prices include a 19% VAT, which typically makes cars there more expensive than in the U.S. As a reference point, the 2017 BMW 5 Series had a starting price of around €52,000 ($56,500) in Germany.

The BMW 1 Series lineup has undergone a price shift, reflecting both inflation and industry-wide trends. Compared to the 2017 5 Series (adjusted for inflation), the new M135 xDrive sits in a similar price bracket.

This marks a 25% increase over the past seven years. In the UK, the range starts at £31,065 for the 120 Sport, with the 120 M Sport coming in at £33,065. The M135 xDrive tops the range at £43,000.

While these prices represent a jump from previous iterations, they factor in new standard safety features, advanced tech upgrades, and the effects of inflation. Despite the increase, the new 1 Series stays competitive in its class, boasting improved features and reliability.
