The 428 Cobra Jet, on the other hand, struck a balance between power and affordability, making it a more popular choice among GT500 buyers.

Its combination of high-performance capabilities and manageable insurance premiums appealed to a wider range of enthusiasts. As a result, the 428 Cobra Jet accounted for a significant portion of the 1968 GT500 production, showcasing its popularity and appeal.
