Hyundai, a renowned automaker, has maintained its commitment to traditional passenger cars in the United States, unlike many of its competitors. Their current lineup includes the Elantra, Sonata, and the electric Ioniq 6, among others.

However, in overseas markets, Hyundai offers a wider range of vehicles, one of which is the mid-size sedan Grandeur. This model, particularly the seventh-generation version, has gained immense popularity in South Korea, securing the top spot in new car sales last year with over 110,000 units sold.

Despite its recent launch, Hyundai has introduced updates to the Grandeur. While the changes are not substantial, they include additional interior features, a black exterior package, enhanced safety technology, and a unique addition of a fire extinguisher.

The lineup offers various trims, each with distinct features such as premium leather upholstery, a head up display, and a dark exterior package. These updates further solidify the Grandeur’s position as a desirable mid-size sedan in the Korean market. The Hyundai Grandeur, a popular sedan in Korea, boasts a diverse range of powertrain options, including gasoline and LPG variants of the 3.5L V6, a naturally aspirated 2.5L four-cylinder, and a 1.6L hybrid.

Priced competitively, starting at under $30,000 and reaching nearly $40,000 for the top-tier model, the Grandeur offers a compelling value proposition. While its return to the US market as the Azera seems unlikely, given its recent introduction, Hyundai is expected to maintain its current form for the coming years, with a potential mid cycle refresh on the horizon.

Although a brand-new Grandeur is not in the immediate plans, a talented rendering artist, OtoExpert, has envisioned a futuristic interpretation of the sedan.

This fascinating concept, showcased on YouTube, presents a four door coupe like design with a distinctive front fascia, sleek profile, rear hinged doors, large wheels, and a predominantly black aesthetic. The rendering’s striking appearance suggests a vehicle worthy of a sci-fi film, capturing attention with its innovative and visually appealing design.
