Dodge has once again revealed a limited-edition Durango SRT Hellcat, this time dubbed the Hammerhead. Despite the automaker’s previous vow to discontinue the Hellcat engine after 2023, the Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead continues to offer a staggering 710 horsepower and a blistering 3.5 second 0-60 mph acceleration. While this performance might seem impressive for a family SUV, it comes at a steep price of $113,720.

This figure is particularly questionable when compared to the BMW X7 M60i, which offers a more luxurious experience for just $110,900. Dodge’s repeated introduction of Hellcat-powered special editions has raised eyebrows among enthusiasts, especially considering Tim Kuniskis’ previous announcement about the engine’s discontinuation.

The automaker’s decision to extend production of the Wrangler Rubicon 392 Final Edition for the 2025 model year, albeit with reduced features, further highlights a pattern of inconsistent promises. The Hammerhead’s limited availability has also been shrouded in mystery, with Dodge failing to specify the exact production numbers.

Despite these concerns, the 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead boasts an impressive array of features, including forged carbon-fiber trim, light black chrome interior accents, and exclusive Hammerhead Grey Laguna seats with Sepia SRT Hellcat logos. The SUV also comes standard with black-painted Brembo six-piston brake calipers.

Dodge’s choice of the British spelling “gray” in the Hammerhead’s name is a curious one, but let’s focus on the more substantial details. This limited-edition SUV offers a host of upgrades over its standard counterparts, including Satin Carbon wheels, Pirelli all-season tires, a premium interior with suede headliner and leather/suede steering wheel, and a Harman Kardon audio system with 19 speakers.

In addition to these unique features, the Hammerhead benefits from a range of advanced technologies like a sunroof, driver-assistance systems, a second-row console, and wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

For those looking to purchase a Hammerhead, the Dodge Power Dollars program offers a cash allowance based on the vehicle’s horsepower. The Hammerhead can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a remarkable 11.5 seconds, making it a thrilling option for performance enthusiasts.
