Renault’s Alpine division is rapidly transitioning to a fully electric future. Following the A290 electric supermini, Alpine is set to introduce the A390 electric crossover next year. A concept version, dubbed A390_ β, will be showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show.

Recent shots offer a look at the A390, revealing a distinctive fastback silhouette, Michelin tires, and multi spoke alloy wheels. While specific tire details are unclear, Alpine’s collaboration with Michelin on the A290 suggests that the A390 will likely feature low-rolling resistance tires for enhanced efficiency.

The A390’s design echoes the internal combustion A110, with a plunging hood line and a focus on sporty aesthetics. Alpine plans to electrify the A110 as well, offering both coupe and roadster versions in the future. While the A390’s exterior showcases a premium design, certain elements, such as the hidden door handles, appear less refined.

This raises questions about whether Alpine can maintain its high performance image while transitioning to a more affordable electric vehicle market. The Alpine A390, a new electric crossover, showcases a distinct identity with its unique daytime running lights and LED strip rear lighting.

Built on the Renault Nissan Mitsubishi Alliance’s AmpR Medium platform, it shares its foundation with the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, Renault Scenic E-Tech, and Nissan Ariya. While the camouflage obscures the rear hatch configuration, the A390 is expected to offer a practical five-door layout.

Known for its powerful performance, the A390 is rumored to feature a dual-motor setup, potentially delivering more than 600 horsepower. This would surpass the single-motor Alpine A290, which offers up to 218 horsepower and 300 Newton-meters of torque. With its impressive power output, the A390 aims to compete with other high-performance electric vehicles.
