Dodge is set to bring its Charger Daytona EV, a high-performance electric muscle car, to international markets, challenging competitors like the Porsche Taycan and Hyundai IONIQ 5 N. Known as the “world’s first and only electric muscle car,” the Charger Daytona EV marks Dodge’s effort to expand its global footprint. Stellantis, Dodge’s parent company, has confirmed plans to export the electric Charger to regions outside North America, signifying the brand’s ambitions for a broader reach.

First introduced earlier this year, the Charger Daytona EV is described as the “world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.” Starting in 2025, the electric Charger will launch in the Middle East and enter European markets through importers. The global release will include both electric and petrol-powered variants, though it is unclear which powertrains will arrive first. However, Dodge has yet to confirm plans for right-hand drive markets like the UK and Australia, which might limit its availability in those regions.

The Charger Daytona EV promises remarkable performance with a 100.5kWh battery that produces 590bhp as standard, increasing to 670bhp with the 15-second ‘PowerShot’ boost feature. This enables the car to achieve a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds and complete a quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. Dodge has hinted at a potential future variant with power exceeding the 807bhp of its legendary Hellcat Redeye model. Alongside the high-powered Scat Pack version, the lineup will also include the Daytona R/T, which delivers 496bhp, a longer range of up to 317 miles, and improved energy efficiency.

The Charger Daytona retains its muscle car roots with a design inspired by the 1968 Charger, blending classic features with modern elements. Its bold, wide stance and aggressive proportions emphasize its performance focus, and both two- and four-door versions share these distinctive traits. The front features a full-width LED light bar for a contemporary touch, while the rear sports a ‘ring of fire’ tail light design reminiscent of classic Dodge styling. Minor design adjustments have been made to adapt the production model to the Stellantis STLA Large platform.

Pricing starts at $59,995 (£48,895) for the Daytona R/T and $58,427 (£48,145) for the Scat Pack model. Despite its appeal, the Charger’s availability in right-hand drive markets remains uncertain, as the initial rollout targets left-hand drive regions. More details about a possible UK release are expected in Spring, as Dodge moves forward with its strategy to establish a global presence for its groundbreaking electric muscle car.
