After experimenting with several Smart Fortwo models, Brabus determined that the moment was right to introduce a new limited-run version—the Brabus 92R.
Production of the Brabus 92R will be capped at just 50 units, with pricing beginning at €46,284 (approximately $55,000 based on current exchange rates) in Germany before factoring in any applicable incentives.
Buyers in Germany, for instance, can take advantage of an EV subsidy totaling €9,000 ($10,600), effectively bringing the cost of the Brabus 92R down to a more reasonable €37,284 ($44,200).
Built upon the foundation of the Smart EQ Fortwo Cabrio, this new version features an upgraded electric motor capable of delivering 91 HP (92 PS) and 133 lb-ft (180 Nm) of peak torque. These figures represent an increase of 10 HP and 15 lb-ft compared to the standard model, giving the car a performance boost.

Performance Enhancements and Driving Modes
While these numbers may not seem overwhelming, the Brabus 92R is an exceptionally compact vehicle. Given its size, reaching the electronically restricted top speed of 81 mph (130 km/h) should be a swift process, aided by the instant torque characteristic of electric motors.
One of the most intriguing aspects of this model is Brabus’ ability to enhance an electric vehicle’s powertrain—something few tuning companies have attempted.
To achieve this, engineers and software specialists at Brabus developed the PowerXtra performance upgrade, which includes modifications to the torque control system, newly calibrated modules for the driving dynamics switch and accelerator pedal, and an exclusive gateway system.
Inside the cabin, drivers can take advantage of what Brabus refers to as the ‘driving fun switch,’ allowing them to select between four distinct drive modes: Basic, Eco, Sport, and Sport +.
The Basic mode maintains the car’s original power settings, while Eco mode enhances energy recuperation when the accelerator is released, providing a stronger regenerative effect than the stock Smart EQ. Switching to Sport mode sharpens throttle response while returning energy recovery to factory levels.
Additional Upgrades and Customization
To unlock the full 92 HP output, the Sport + mode must be activated. When engaged, the Brabus 92R can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 10.9 seconds. On a full charge, the vehicle is capable of covering a maximum range of 78 miles (125 km).

Additional performance and aesthetic upgrades include a coilover suspension system, a full body kit designed to enhance the car’s sporty presence, and Monoblock IX alloy wheels finished in gloss black, measuring 16 inches at the front and 17 inches at the rear.
Customers also have the option to personalize their vehicle further with unique paint colors and interior enhancements.
