The automobile industry is famous for its high-selling, demanding, feature-loaded cars but do you know some cars were unable to survive for long in the arena. These cars failed to fulfill customers’ needs. Flop cars don’t mean that they had bad sales or disastrous looks; it’s just that they couldn’t get enough popularity and demand. Well, we can agree that a few cars get discontinued because of their look also, but majorly cars with faults and damages are not accepted. Several brands don’t get along with the trend and lose out in the market.

5. Ford Th!nk

You’re mistaken if you wonder if it’s a spelling error. Th!nk is the name of Ford’s failure car. It was an all-electric vehicle. Ford made this car in collaboration with The Th!nk Mobility. These two brands together came out with two electric cars in this lineup. These were Th!nk city and Th!nk Neighbor. The city was a 2-door, 2-seat car. It had a top speed of 90 km/h. It was a compact car with not-so-good specifications. The range of this car was around 80kms, which seems disappointing. Although Ford sold a few units of this car, it was a great failure.

4. Chevrolet SSR

SSR is an acronym for Super Sport Roadster. Chevrolet SSR was introduced as a pickup truck. This disastrous car was a failure because of its price. SSR was released in 2003 with a price tag of $41,995. This was a huge price tag then. Earlier, Chevy offered a 5.3L V8 engine and later replaced it with a 6.0L V8 engine. The production of SSR stopped in 2006 due to low sales numbers.

3. Fisker Karma

Karma was a luxury electric sports car by Fisker. Karma became one of the flop cars because of the battery failure. It resulted in recalling the cars. Later, Fisker was declared Bankrupt. The company produced Karma in 2011 and 2012. This car came with a price of $102,000. This was a huge amount. Hence, this could also be a possible reason for the termination of Karma.

2. Toyota iQ

This Japanese automaker was introduced as a mini electric car. This compact was a 3-door hatchback with the capability of fitting four people. Although the space wasn’t enough in the rear, the engineering of making four people sit in this small car was amazing. The main problems with this car were the size and comfort and various customer issues. It was priced at $16,000.

1. Jaguar X-type

Ranked at number 1 is Jaguar’s X-type. A failure from Jaguar seems unbelievable, but it is true. X-type was an underbuilt car with numerous faults. The engine stopped working in a few cars while there were problems in transmissions with others. Jaguar released this car as an entry-level sports car, but all the hopes went in vain. It was produced from 2001 till 2009. The price for Jaguar X-type in 2008 was around $35,000.
