Peugeot has introduced the revamped 2024 Peugeot 2008 in Australia, boasting a refined appearance and improved fuel economy, albeit with a modest price bump of around $1000. The updated Peugeot 2008 is available in two trims: Allure and GT, with a starting price of $39,990 before on-road costs for the base model, marking a $1045 increase from the previous year. The GT variant begins at $44,490, up $1093 compared to its predecessor.

Externally, the refreshed model flaunts a new grille with body-colored slats, distinctive “three-claw” LED daytime running lights, and eye-catching “3D-effect” tail lights accentuated by the brand’s latest shield-style grille design. Black mirror caps and sleek 17-inch ‘Karakoy’ diamond-cut alloy wheels come as standard, with optional 18-inch alloys for the GT trim.

Inside, the upgraded 2008 boasts wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity on the 10-inch touchscreen, now accompanied by two USB-C outlets in the front and one in the rear. The GT variant offers a passenger-side ambient lighting strip linked to the drive mode, along with an enhanced standard reversing camera and a suite of Connected Services with a three-year subscription.

Powered by a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 96kW of power and 230Nm of torque, the 2008 retains its previous power and torque outputs. However, the transition from a six-speed to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

This resulted in notable reductions in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, now rated at 5.4L/100km and 123g/km, respectively. Measuring 4304mm in length, 1815mm in width (1987mm including mirrors), and 1550mm in height, the 2024 Peugeot 2008 offers a spacious interior with ample boot space of 434L (545L to the roof), expandable to 1015L and 1467L with the rear seats folded.

The Peugeot 2008 comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of safety features, including autonomous emergency braking, lane-keep assist, multi-collision brake, and front and rear parking sensors. The GT trim enhances safety further with adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, and active Lane Following Assist.

Buyers can opt for the Style pack ($2500, GT only), which includes a sunroof and larger 18-inch Evissa Onyx Black diamond-cut alloy wheels. The 2008 is available in a range of colors, including the new Selenium Grey, metallic finishes such as Artense Grey and Nera Black, and premium options like Elixir Red and Vertigo Blue.

The updated Peugeot 2008 offers an enticing blend of enhanced features, improved efficiency, and stylish design, further solidifying its position in the competitive small crossover segment.
