Sanchez will now work closely with team principal Bruno Famin at Alpine. He’ll be in charge of the new three-part technical setup at the Enstone team. This means he’ll oversee the performance, engineering, and aerodynamics sectors, each led by Ciaron Pilbeam, Joe Burnell, and David Wheater, respectively.

Sanchez left his job at McLaren a month ago. He had joined them in January but found his role had changed during his gardening leave. McLaren agreed to let him go so he could find a more senior position. Alpine quickly hired him to help improve their performance.

Famin welcomed Sanchez back to Enstone, where he started his F1 career. Famin believes Sanchez’s appointment is crucial for the team’s success. He said they need to improve the car’s performance, and Sanchez’s experience will be valuable.

Sanchez expressed his excitement about joining Alpine. He’s eager to work with the team again and unlock their potential. He knows there’s a big challenge ahead to make the team successful on the track, but he’s motivated to tackle it.

Alpine decided to reorganize its technical setup, taking inspiration from McLaren. This change came after the departure of Matt Harman and Dirk de Beer. Despite pursuing a new design for their car, Alpine faced challenges during pre-season testing and struggled in the first five races.
