In Miami, Piastri had a better start than Norris in their McLaren team. He got ahead of Norris, Carlos Sainz, and Sergio Perez when Perez went straight on at the first corner. Even though Piastri’s car didn’t have all the upgrades that Norris’ car did, he showed good speed early on. He passed Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and moved up to second place behind Max Verstappen.

But then Norris took the lead after waiting to pit until a safety car period, which let him pit for free. Norris controlled the race from then on and won for the first time.

Sainz was penalized for touching Piastri in their fight for fourth place. Piastri had to pit for a new front wing and ended up 13th.

Despite his bad luck, Piastri’s team boss, Stella, thinks he’ll be encouraged by how he did next to Norris in a slower car. Piastri’s race pace was strong, which was something they wanted to improve. Piastri showed he was a strong driver even without all the upgrades.

Stella praised Piastri for not getting upset when told Norris would get the upgrades first. Piastri understood and supported the decision, even though he wasn’t happy about it. He showed he’s a good team player.
