The new version of the EV6 for the Korean market is here, and it comes with some changes we saw in the teaser images. The most noticeable change is in the front of the car. The regular headlights are replaced with “Star Map” lighting that creates a cool pattern around the redesigned front bumper.

There’s also a lit-up crossbar. In the back, the full-width light bar now has matching lighting, and there are new designs on the mock diffuser to tell the GT-Line apart from other versions. Plus, the car now has new geometric wheels in black and silver, either 19 or 20 inches in size, which makes it look more like Kia’s other electric cars.

Inside, the dashboard has been redesigned to have a simple rectangular shape. The steering wheel in the non-GT models now has lines that go up instead of down, and it looks even better in a two-tone color scheme. The GT-Line model gets a different three-spoke steering wheel.

Other changes inside include a better wireless charging pad for phones, a digital rearview mirror, new ambient lighting with dynamic graphics, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, support for Kia Digital Key 2, and a fingerprint sensor for extra security.

For comfort, Kia has made the car’s body stronger with a thicker B-pillar, added more soundproofing around the rear motor, and tweaked the suspension. Safety-wise, there are now 10 airbags inside the car. Plus, the car can now get updates over the air to improve its control systems, not just the navigation.

As expected, the battery has been upgraded from 77.4 kWh to 84.0 kWh. It can charge super fast, going from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes with a 350 kW charger. When Hyundai did this with the Ioniq 5, the range went up by 20 miles. We don’t know yet how the new EV6 will do on the EPA cycle, but in Korea, it can go 19 kilometers farther. It’s expected to come to our market soon, probably as a 2025 model.
