Lamborghini has introduced a new version of its Urus SUV called the SE, which stands for “plug-in hybrid.” This means it can run on electricity as well as gasoline. It was shown at the 2024 Beijing auto show and comes with a powerful electric system that gives it almost 800 horsepower. Inside and out, there are also some changes to how it looks and what technology it has.

Even though Lamborghini already had a plug-in hybrid model called the Revuelto, the Urus SE is a big deal because the Urus is their top-selling model. The company wants to offer more performance to its fans, and adding electricity to the mix helps with that.

But don’t worry, the Urus SE still has a powerful V8 engine. It’s the same one used in the regular Urus but has been tweaked to work with an electric motor and a big battery. Together, they give the Urus SE a total of almost 800 horsepower and allow it to go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.4 seconds. Plus, it can travel up to 37 miles using only electricity.

Adding the electric stuff does make the Urus SE heavier, but Lamborghini says it still has a better power-to-weight ratio than the regular Urus S. They’ve also made some changes to help it handle better, like a new system that sends power to the wheels that need it most.

On the outside, you’ll notice some differences from the regular Urus. It has new headlights, a redesigned grille, and some cool lights at the back that are connected together. These changes aren’t just for looks; they also help improve how the car moves through the air and how well it cools down.

Inside, there’s a big touchscreen that controls the infotainment system, and the driver gets a fancy digital display behind the steering wheel. There are also special driving modes for when you want to use only electricity or when you want to go really fast.

Lamborghini hasn’t said yet how much the Urus SE will cost or when you’ll be able to buy one, but we can expect to hear more about that soon.
