The people who run MotoGP, called Dorna, have been talking to the top teams in the MotoGP about celebrating the 75th anniversary of the racing series. They want to do something special for this big milestone.

Dorna thinks it would be cool if the bikes had special designs that look old-fashioned. They’re suggesting that these special designs should be used just for one race, probably during the British Grand Prix from August 2nd to 4th.

Some teams are really excited about the idea of having special colors on their bikes. But others need more time to decide if they want to do it or not. However, it seems like most of them will agree to the idea eventually.

At first, MotoGP thought about celebrating the anniversary during the first-ever race in Kazakhstan, which was supposed to happen on June 16th, the closest date to when the first world championship race took place 75 years ago. But there were some doubts about whether the event in Kazakhstan would happen, so they started looking at other options. Now, the race in Kazakhstan has been postponed because of flooding, so they have to find another place for the special celebration.

Now, MotoGP is thinking about doing it at the famous TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. But because the teams need more time to decide on their new designs, they might end up doing it at Silverstone instead.

This special celebration is just one of the things Dorna has planned for the 75th anniversary of MotoGP. They also made a special logo for the occasion. They want to remember the first-ever premier class race, which also happened on the Isle of Man on June 17th, 1949.

In the 75 years since MotoGP started, there have been 126 champions in all the different classes. Italy has won the most grand prix races with 890 wins, followed by Spain with 729.

The 2024 MotoGP season is starting again this weekend with the French Grand Prix at Le Mans.
