French GP Drama: Martin Outpaces Marquez and Bagnaia in Thrilling Race
Despite pressure from Bagnaia, Martin held on to win

Martin won the sprint race on Saturday and then won the French Grand Prix on Sunday, his second victory of the 2024 season. He now leads the championship by 38 points.

During the race, Martin followed Bagnaia closely for most of the 27 laps. He made his move to take the lead on lap 21. Despite pressure from Bagnaia, Martin held on to win. Marquez, who started in 13th place, finished second.

Martin finished ahead of Marquez by 0.446 seconds, with Bagnaia in third. Bastianini, who had a long lap penalty, finished fourth, followed by Vinales.

Bagnaia had a good start and took the lead from Martin and Espargaro. Marquez also made a strong start and moved up to eighth place.

Bagnaia and Martin quickly pulled ahead of the others. Marquez joined the battle for the lead and closed the gap.

On lap 21, Martin passed Bagnaia to take the lead. Marquez followed closely behind.

In the end, Martin held onto the lead, with Marquez finishing second after overtaking Bagnaia on the last lap.

Bastianini received a penalty during the race but managed to finish fourth. Morbidelli finished seventh, and Binder finished eighth after starting last.

Quartararo, a local favorite, crashed out of the race while running in the top eight.

Several other riders, including Bezzecchi, Acosta, Miller, and Oliveira, also failed to finish the race. Marini was the last classified runner in 16th place, and Mir crashed out of the race as well.
