Marc Marquez was hoping to join the Ducati for the 2025 season, but it seems that Jorge Martin will get the spot instead

The six-time MotoGP world champion, Marc Marquez, was hoping to join the Ducati team for the 2025 season, but it seems that Jorge Martin will get the spot instead.

Even though Marquez has been doing well on the Ducati bike this season, Ducati seems to prefer Jorge Martin, who finished second in last year’s championship and is currently leading in points.

Marquez mentioned before the Italian Grand Prix that he doesn’t want to move to the Pramac team and that he wants to stay with Ducati only if he gets a works bike.

However, the Pramac team boss said they will be the only Ducati team with works bikes next year.

Marquez also has an offer from KTM, so he has to decide what he wants to do for the 2025 season.

This isn’t the first time Marquez has been involved in rumors about which team he’ll join next year, but he says he expected it.

He said, “I was looking for this. That’s why I signed a one-year contract with Gresini last year because I believed in myself and my potential. If you show you’re fast, you’ll have options.”

Jorge Martin, who is leading the championship, thinks Pramac is the best team right now. They won the team title last year, and Martin believes they’re still the best.

He said, “There’s nothing more to say. Last year, they were the best team in the world. With that, everything is said. Right now, it is the best team in MotoGP.”
