Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko addressed rumors linking himself, Max Verstappen, and Adrian Newey to a potential departure from Red Bull, describing it as an ‘interesting possibility.’

Marko, who has been associated with the Milton Keynes-based outfit since its inception in Formula 1 in 2005, has been the subject of speculation about his future due to ongoing issues involving team principal Christian Horner.

Horner underwent an internal investigation by Red Bull after facing allegations of ‘inappropriate behavior’ from a female employee. Despite being cleared of any wrongdoing, leaked messages allegedly sent by Horner reignited the controversy.

Jos Verstappen, father of three-time world champion Max Verstappen, revealed a rift with Horner during the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend, leading to speculation about Max’s future at Red Bull, with Mercedes reportedly interested in him.

Reports suggest Max has an exit clause in his contract, allowing him to leave if Marko departs. Additionally, the future of Red Bull’s chief technical officer, Adrian Newey, has been questioned due to the Horner saga.

Former F1 race winner Gerhard Berger speculated to F1 Insider that Marko, Newey, and Verstappen might all leave while suggesting that Horner would likely retain his position.

Addressing the rumors, Marko remained non-committal, stating to OE24, “I’ll stick with my no comment here too. The fact is that there is a great deal of trust between Max and me.”

He described the situation as “an interesting possibility,” referring specifically to Berger’s claims.
