Manfred Doss, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Audi, expressed that the entry into Formula 1 marks a pinnacle in Audi’s motorsport history and signifies a significant sporting challenge and financial commitment.

By consolidating Hoffmann’s responsibilities and acquiring Sauber Group entirely, Audi aims to accelerate preparations for the 2026 season.

Hoffmann, renowned for his tenure at Audi Sport’s technical development, brings valuable experience from successes in DTM, Formula E, and Dakar Rally, where Audi achieved a historic win with an electrified powertrain.

Speaking about his new role, Hoffmann emphasized his passion for motorsport, particularly Formula 1, and his belief that the consolidation of responsibilities and full acquisition of Sauber Group will expedite preparations for Audi’s Formula 1 venture.

Seidl, previously CEO at Sauber and McLaren, expressed enthusiasm for leading Audi into Formula 1, outlining clear goals for competitiveness and growth, both at Sauber’s Hinwil base and Audi’s headquarters in Neuburg.
