The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) announced on Wednesday that they’re starting to look into a deadly crash that happened on March 3rd. It involved a Ford Mustang Mach-E and two cars that were parked on the I-95 highway in Philadelphia.

Earlier in March, the NTSB was already checking out another crash. This one happened on February 24th in San Antonio, Texas. It involved a Ford Mustang Mach-E crashing into the back of a Honda CR-V that was stopped on Interstate Highway 10. The car had an advanced driver assistance system.

Ford offers something called BlueCruise. It’s a system that lets drivers go hands-free on highways in the U.S. and Canada where there aren’t any intersections or traffic lights.

The NTSB is working with the Pennsylvania State Police on this investigation. They haven’t said anything about it yet.

Ford found out about the Philadelphia crash from the NTSB. They’ve also told the National Highway Transportation Safety Association (NHTSA) about it. The NHTSA makes car companies report any fatal crashes that involve advanced driver assistance systems.

Ford is looking into what happened on March 3rd. They’re working with both the NTSB and the NHTSA to figure out what happened.

The NHTSA hasn’t said anything about it yet.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, the crash caused a big traffic jam on I-95 for many hours after it happened.

The NTSB has looked into a few crashes in the past few years that involved advanced driver assistance systems. They’ve looked into Tesla’s Autopilot system, among others.
