Last month, the media found out that Fisker, even though it started making its Ocean SUV, lost almost half a billion dollars last year and really needed help. Nissan was talking about giving Fisker $400 million, but that didn’t work out, so bankruptcy seemed like the only choice. But guess what? Fisker is bouncing back! According to Business Insider, four car companies want to buy Fisker.

Henrik Fisker, the founder, told employees about this at a meeting last Thursday. He didn’t say which car companies were interested, but he did say, “We still have some time to get other offers on Fisker. We do have four car companies that have signed NDAs. However, they obviously need time to get to some diligence.”

We don’t know how long it will take for these companies to check everything, but considering Fisker already lost lots of money from customers, we’re not sure if they’re all organized. If this deal is going to work, it might take a while.

There was already an offer, but Fisker said no because they didn’t offer enough money. If other car companies are interested, it makes sense to wait for a better deal. But earlier in the week, Fisker told staff that if they didn’t get more money in the next 30 days, they might have to file for bankruptcy. As of April 16, the company only had $54 million and thinks it might not have enough money to pay its bills.

Maybe taking the first offer would have been smart, but hopefully, one of the four companies talking to Fisker will offer more money and fix everything wrong with the Ocean, for the sake of the workers.
