Acura’s first electric SUV, the ZDX, is here! Following the launch of the Honda Prologue, Acura has started selling the ZDX this quarter. The EPA recently released efficiency ratings for two versions of the ZDX: the A-Spec RWD and AWD.

The good news is that the ZDX A-Spec boasts a very impressive range! The RWD version can travel an estimated 313 miles on a single charge, while the AWD version goes for 304 miles. This is thanks in large part to the ZDX’s big battery pack.

However, in real-world situations, you might not quite reach those numbers. Since highway driving typically uses more energy, expect a range closer to 280-290 miles for most drivers.

The high-performance ZDX Type S isn’t rated by the EPA yet, but estimates put its range at 278 miles. This is likely because it has bigger wheels and sportier tires that are less efficient.

The ZDX A-Spec RWD gets an estimated 90 MPGe (miles per gallon equivalent), which translates to about 2.7 miles per kWh of electricity. The AWD version is slightly less efficient at 87 MPGe or 2.6 miles/kWh. These figures are very similar to the Cadillac Lyriq, which is built in the same factory as the ZDX.

The ZDX starts at a slightly higher price than the Cadillac Lyriq. However, it’s worth noting that the base Lyriq might not have as many features as the standard ZDX. Ultimately, the best choice for you will depend on your budget and whether you prioritize features or a slightly lower starting price.
