A towing vehicle was spotted attempting to tow away what appeared to be an armored Mercedes-AMG G63 limousine, with speculation suggesting it belonged to car enthusiast and Nigerian politician Dino Melaye. This raised questions due to the resemblance of the vehicle to others in Melaye’s ostentatious car collection, notably in its blue paint and armored build.
Last month, another Mercedes-Benz G-Class limousine was added to Melaye’s impressive array of luxury cars, further enhancing his reputation as a collector of extravagant vehicles. Among his assortment are various G-Wagon SUVs, including a stretched model and a bulletproof variant.
A photo shared by the Instagram car page Automobil_poacher depicted the towing vehicle’s endeavor, accompanied by a caption expressing uncertainty about whether the G-Wagon belonged to Melaye. However, the similarities in appearance between the depicted limousine and Melaye’s known vehicles, particularly the blue color and armored features, raised suspicions.
Melaye had previously showcased his latest acquisition, the blue G63 limousine, on his Instagram page, captioning the post with the Yoruba phrase “Oluwaloseyi,” conveying gratitude or acknowledgment of a divine hand in his fortune. This addition further solidified his standing as a connoisseur of opulent automobiles, adding to his collection of luxury vehicles, including several G-Wagon variants.
