AMAZON NEW TRUCK

Amazon’s familiar blue delivery vans are getting electric company! This time, they’re adding big electric trucks from Volvo to their fleet in California. These trucks will be used to haul shipping containers and other cargo over short distances, helping out with the first leg of deliveries.

The new Volvo VNR Electric trucks can travel up to 275 miles on a single charge and can carry a lot of stuff – up to 82,000 pounds! They also come with a bunch of safety features to keep the roads safe.

Amazon will spend $200 million on safety technology across its transportation network in 2023

Some people might say Amazon is just doing what they have to do because California has a new law that will soon make it difficult to use gas-powered trucks for these short hauls. But Amazon says they’re excited about these new electric trucks anyway. They believe this is a big step towards making their deliveries cleaner and are looking forward to learning more about electric trucks as they use them.
