Attention electric car owners! There’s a safety hazard to be aware of with Lectron’s NACS to CCS1 charging adapter. This adapter allows certain electric vehicles to use Tesla’s Supercharger stations.
Lectron is recalling about 1,600 of these adapters because they could disconnect during charging. This is due to a faulty latch that might allow the adapter to come unplugged even if it’s still locked. This creates a risk of electric shock.
The recall only affects adapters manufactured between March 14 and April 8, 2024, so check the date on yours. These faulty adapters have a rounded latch pin that makes it easy for the cable to slip out.
If you have one of these adapters, stop using it and contact Lectron right away. They will replace it for free. You can find more info on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website or by watching the videos mentioned in the passage.
