Volkswagen has unveiled the Polo Robust in Brazil, catering to the agricultural sector in the country’s thriving automotive market.

Positioned as a rugged variant of the sixth-generation Polo, which holds the title of Volkswagen’s best-selling model in Brazil, the Polo Robust is tailored for farm use and joins the brand’s lineup of utility-focused vehicles alongside the Saveiro and Amarok utes.

Equipped with raised front and rear suspension for enhanced ground clearance, the Polo Robust offers two optional packages aimed at further optimizing its functionality for farm environments. The first package includes external grille protectors, vinyl seat covers, and rubber floor mats, while the second adds a luggage compartment rubber mat and a tow bar.

Based on the low-cost Polo Track introduced in Brazil in 2023, the Polo Robust inherits design elements such as chunkier bumpers, steel wheels, and tinted tail lights.

Powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder ‘flex-fuel’ engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission, the Polo Robust offers versatility by running on either petrol or ethanol bio-fuel blends, catering to the preferences of Brazilian motorists.

Brazil remains the largest automotive market in South America, with Volkswagen aiming to strengthen its presence with a $US1.83 billion investment to expand its product portfolio, including fuel-flex, hybrid, and electric vehicles.

The company’s commitment aligns with Fiat’s plans to invest $US6.07 billion in Brazil by 2030, reflecting the industry’s focus on innovation and growth in the region.

With a legacy of 71 years in Brazil and a reputation as the nation’s largest automotive exporter, Volkswagen continues to evolve its offerings to meet the diverse needs of Brazilian consumers, reinforcing its position as a leading player in the country’s automotive landscape.
